Конкурсна програма
“Ukrainian folk symbols and wisdom”
Мета. Створити веселу атмосферу свята для учнів. Активізувати знання
лексики з теми «Ukrainian traditions», сприяти розвитку
мовленнєвих навичок. Розвивати увагу, мовну реакцію, логічне
мислення, комунікабельність учнів.
Виховувати інтерес до вивчення англійської мови, почуття гордості за свою країну; грома¬дянську свідомість учнів
Обладнання. Зал прикрашений написами: ”We lovUkraine!». Наочні посібники та роздатковий матеріал для проведення конкурсів.
ХІД ЗАХОДУ
Звучить музика, пісні англійською мовою . В залі збираються глядачі, ведучі, учасники заходу. Виходить ведучий (соmpere ), музика стихає.

Dear friends! We are very glad to meet you here, in this beautiful hall.
Welcome to the party “Ukrainian folk symbols and wisdom!”
Today we’ll speak English, listen and sing English songs. We’ll travel to the world of proverbs and sayings. In other words, we’ll enjoy the English language today. So. Let’s start. But first of all we try to make two teams.
Teacher. Take a parts of card. Make a holiday card and find the members of your team.
Compere. Now I’ll present to you the participants of our party, the pupils of our school who love English and know it. So meet our two teams and you can see wise jury who will judge today’s competition. They will say what team is better.
Teacher. We wish “Good luck” for our teams.
The 1st contest .
Call your team and introduce the name of your team and names of participants of your team. (Представлення назв команд та їх учасників)
Example: My name is … . I am … . I like reading.
Our team is “Clever boys”.
My name is … . I am … . I like singing.
Our team is “Wise girls”.
The 2nd contest
Which team recite the poem better. (Хто продекламує вірш краще).
Love Ukraine as you would love the sun,
The wind, the grass and the streams together…
Love her in happy hours, when joys are won,
And love her in time of stormy weather.

The 4th contest
Complete the sentence or answer the question.

7) When do we celebrate the Independence Day? (on the 24th of August)
8) Ukrainian people cooked paska and coloured eggs… on Easter
9) Write the word –the name of the main winter holiday which is celebrated on the 7TH of January. (Christmas)
10) Ukrainians meet the guests with … bread and salt
The 5th contest
Translate and write down without mistakes the following word-combinations:

- українська гостинність – Ukrainian hospitality
The 6th contest
Gather the flowers and read the proverbs. Translate it into Ukrainian.

Plait the girl’s hair using the ribbon. (Заплетіть дівчині косу із стьожкою)

The 9th contest Outstanding person
Choose the card and say 3 sentences about outstanding person of Ukraine.
The 10th contest Make the wreath for the girl
Hang the flowers to the words. (Прилаштуйте квіти на вінку відповідно до написанх назв)
The 11th contest Black box
Ask as many questions as you need. Try to guess what is there in the black box?
